“It is Hunan’s responsibility to activly join in the economic developments in PPRD (Pan-Pearl River Delta) region cooperation, and it is Hunan’s the shortcut of speeding up the development.” said Liu Zhiming, the Deputy Director general of Hunan Province travel agency in the third session of PPRD Regional Cooperation and Development Forum at the special recommendation meeting. He has recommended 8 golden-travel-routes in Hunan Province.

Hunan province receives altogether 71 million national and aboard travelers in 2005. The gross income of travel industry is 45.372 billion Yuan which occupies 6.9% of the GDP of our province.

The travel industry already becomes an important part of Hunan economy development. It forms a development structure of “a center or a main item, eight golden lines” for high-quality services. The 8 golden travel routes in Hunan are as follows:

1. Hunan scenery route: Changsha, Changde, Zhangjiajie, Mengdonghe River;
2. Hunan culture route: Changsha, Miluo, Qu Zi temple, Yueyang;
3. Hometown of Hunan celebrity route: Changsha, Shao Moutain, Hua mingluo;
4. Religion/culture/scenery route: Heng Mount, Chenzhou;
5. Native living route: Changsha, Zhangjiajie, xiangxi, Fenghuang , Huaihua;
6. Geology/ scenery route: Changsha, Loudi, Shaoyang, Liangshan mountain;
7. Seeking ancestors route: Changsha Yan mausoleum, Shun Di mausoleum;
Rural scenery route: Changsha, Yiyang (Taohua River), Changde (Arcadia, Jia mountain, Huping mountain).
